What impact did that appropriation have on the experience of pastoral burnout? The seven male volunteers experienced burnout while serving as pastors in Wesleyan denominations. Analysis of the data from the questionnaires and open-ended interviews revealed six primary findings: 1) Wesleyan theology has not been fully appropriated; 2) certain Wesleyan theological interpretations contributed to burnout; 3) Wesleyan theology can be a preventive to burnout; 4) a lack of appropriation of Wesleyan theology in early years contributed to burnout; 5) Wesleyan theology points to divine resources to minimize the impact of burnout; and 6) Wesleyan theology points to divine resources for healing after burnout."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Boston University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["2d58bd09-76d0-4970-b257-d55229e0173e"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799714848853983232,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:37:08.207Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:07:04Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:55:59Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"565eb970-414b-4143-a499-24a7a680118d","accessControl_ssim":["37a27809-88de-4eef-8afa-744dd92f4ec4"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The sacred songs of the followers of the Lamb: an examination of Latvian Brudergemeine hymns from 1739"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:07:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:39:49Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d7885b12-53d3-4ed4-b2f9-a50b5d212b03"],"hasLease_ssim":["5f7a7ba1-daf1-4e6c-befc-123d4feb048b"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Boston University"],"advisor_tesim":["Carrie Doehring"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Sarma A Eglite"],"keyword_tesim":["God in music"],"publisher_tesim":["Boston University School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Church music--Moravian Church","Hymns","Pietism","Moravian Church--History","Moravian Church"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This study explores the theology of the images of God found in Kahdas islassitas garrigas jaukas Dzeesmas (1739), the first hymnal of Latvian Lutherans of the Pietistic movement of the Brudergemeine in the early part of the eighteenth century. Wesleyan, Methodist, theological and other influences were implicitly indicated in their responses. More explicit theological reflection was used to enhance an understanding of this ministry.
