The black pastor is pinnacle in the operation of the church through analyzing and sharing feedback. The style of pastoral intervention employed is built on the theoretical base of third party consultation, using System 4 leadership principles.  Major findings are that women do want their minister to care about their group, to promote it, to encourage new women to participate, to be a resource and to attend some activities. This project describes the United Methodist Women's group studied, the process of intervention, the feedback instrument, and the results. The possibilities for its renewal are evidenced by several successful experiments with the office in local churches. The Study Guide designed by the author for this project report was used in a group of eight persons.  The Study Guide was structured to assist the participants in a learning process towards growth.  It was a learning process that merged the cognitive (empirical knowledge of six selected Psalms) with the affective (the participant's feelings while responding to the emotional utterances of the psalmist).  It was a learning experience that proved to be different for most of the participants in that it was a spiritual growth experience. Tape recorded interviews of 26 members of the church were conducted; the responses to eleven questions were submitted to five parish observers who prioritized the responses in terms of their own experience.
