Yet, often this opportunity is missed. In light of this concern, the author developed a small group course, which was aimed to introduce adults to a Wesleyan way of relating to God. By using experimental theology as a model and Kurt Lewin's 'Steps of Change' as an outline, he established a dialogue between the participants' experience and theological concepts in the Wesleyan heritage. For a majority of the participants, the result was a new vision of their relationship to God."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Candler School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["1e360310-aec8-4e88-a19a-00b4db71ef4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134919352647680,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:42:49.805Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:15:35Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:43:50Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"86bdf0d1-c1a6-44ff-b751-fd919451d5ae","accessControl_ssim":["25995beb-0250-4e77-921c-d49d1d4c19d6"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Self-disclosure in preaching"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:15:34Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:06:04Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["11ae55db-78a2-428d-961e-f2e23ac2ac5c"],"hasLease_ssim":["c9bd2d1c-42cc-4857-b26f-486a07edcdad"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Candler School of Theology"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Charles Frank Gattis"],"publisher_tesim":["Candler School of Theology of Emory University"],"subject_tesim":["Preaching--Study and teaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project contends that the use of self-disclosure in preaching helps modern persons relate the Gospel to their lives.
