It proposes that there is a call from within and beyond the church to a new form of leadership; one that is more intentionally ecclesial, more prophetic and more mystical. The thesis-project explores contemporary understandings of prophecy and mysticism, and how a prophetic-mystical style of leadership might be appropriated by Catholic school leaders. In relation to Marist schools, it proposes that a reappropriation of the founder of Marist education, St Marcellin Champagnat, might help realize this new form of ecclesial leadership."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Catholic Theological Union"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b51273d2-7ff5-4ecb-af24-64508c2367ad"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129217158610944,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:12:11.769Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:15:10Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:14:33Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8f1d0312-e5b8-4b13-b176-7d3fba4c4f04","accessControl_ssim":["4bcb9698-b6ea-4a2b-96f1-3cfbea17179b"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Toward culturally aware ministry: a foundation for ministry in Roman Catholic faith communities with Mexican American young adults"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:15:09Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:19:40Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["cae7fc62-260d-4f7b-a29f-ce636f21876d"],"hasLease_ssim":["4d9f360b-a370-4160-9c82-a8cf0613d236"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Catholic Theological Union"],"advisor_tesim":["Mary Frohlich"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["William E Zimmer"],"publisher_tesim":["Catholic Theological Union"],"subject_tesim":["Cultural pluralism","Clergy","Mexican Americans","Theology, Practical","Educational anthropology","Groome, Thomas H","Education"],"language_tesim":["English"],"alternative_title_tesim":["Toward culturally informed ministry: a foundation for excellence in ministry in Mexican American and other multicultural faith communities"],"abstract_tesim":["The author's thesis: (a) Thomas Groome's model of practical theology leads to excellence in pastoral ministry; (b) Conversion is the overarching goal of pastoral ministry; (b) Being knowledgeable about each culture in the community is necessary for culturally informed ministry. Thus a method for culturally informed ministry is presented: (1) Awareness of the fundamental importance of culture for pastoral ministry; (2) Knowledge of one's own culture and the other culture(s); (3) Cross cultural ministerial skills.
