This is a library study. Traditional African religion and culture, the independent African churches, African Christian theology, and the principles of liturgical theology are employed in order to examine what is involved in Africanizing worship. The study concludes that true Africanization must integrate concerns for cultural indigenization and political liberation, and that Africanized worship must reflect this integration. This study examines whether the process of remythologizing the concept of God would be useful in aiding African Americans to form the church into a more suitable vehicle for economic, social, political and spiritual emancipation.  African American theology must be a unique and authentic expression of the hopes, aspirations and needs of the African American community while at the same time remaining open to the ideas and promulgations of the global community.  Chapter 1 illustrates Christianity was never intended by the slavemaster to serve as a liberation mechanism for the slave.  Chapter 2 shows some early attempts by African Americans to remythologize the Christian message.  Chapter 4 describes contemporary African American conceptions of God. Therefore, the role of ministry in rapidly changing pastoral contexts should be reexamined continuously to be effective cross-culturally.  This project emerges out of a cross-cultural pastoral experience which provides tools and opportunities to discern critical issues in the ministry and to articulate a methodology for the ministry.  The project envisions and suggests how ministry can be cross-culturally whole. Therefore, Korean churches have become strongly biased against traditional religions and various theatrical traditions. In the Korean traditional theater, shinmyong is a special artistic experience characterizing the popular aesthetic consciousness of the Korean people.  Shinmyong gives rise to the birth of the people's enthusiastic and participating worship, whether on an individual or a group level.  The shinmyong is comparable to the Western Christian liturgical experience. Shinmyong is an embodiment and incarnation of the Spirit innate in each and every person. The church of Korea should acknowledge these theatrical phenomena as unique resources for the Christian liturgical theology. Research was conducted through a five-year observation of a family recovery program in San Diego, California, and was substantiated by several current recovery models.  The subject recovery program, PARTS (Parents and Adolescents Recovering Together Successfully), is self-managed by families with addicted children.  The project deals with the current crisis in addiction treatment stemming from insurance industry cutbacks and government intervention, the need for community-based recovery models, addresses addiction as a family problem, and develops a basis for family-oriented treatment and
