The researcher engaged in historical research by uncovering relevant material for lectures on Calvin's ministry practices. Six areas were examined: Calvin as preacher, teacher, friend, shepherd, leader, and theologian. These lectures were presented in four separate settings throughout the United States. Nine pastors participated in the follow-up interviews. This study employed a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with six pastors who were of non-denominational, Baptist General Conference, and Presbyterian Church in America affiliations. This study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with seven pastors who had experienced transition within the past five years, entering churches that varied in size and cultural character while being in the same denomination. The research, following a literature review, engaged qualitative methodology through personal interviews guided by four research questions. These questions explored the participants' beliefs about inerrancy, their approaches to difficult texts, their methods of interpretation which were largely individualistic, and their reliance upon God's guidance in understanding texts. A qualitative study was carried out to explore the factors which encourage ministers to take sabbatical leave. This study suggests that the denomination needs to work at explaining the need for and benefits of sabbatical leave and to be more proactive in encouraging ministers. The purpose of this study, thus, was to understand how Korean pastors in northern California relate to Korean dramas in their ministry, particularly in their counseling and sermons. There is little critical evaluation of the Cursillo movement, and the available literature on the movement raises questions about the legitimacy and propriety of some methods employed during the Cursillo weekend. The design of this project is to discover the long-term effects of the Reformed Cursillo in Northwest Iowa. The author suggests that the discontinuation of Cursillo weekends and concentration on revitalizing the church's ordinary
