This project taught an approach to couple prayer utilizing the communication skills previously learned in Couple Communication I combined with the Prayer of Examen as a means of reducing defensiveness in couples as they share and pray together about their growing awareness of God. Twelve Christian married couples participated in a twelve week program involving group sessions and homework. This study measured whether there was an increase in marital satisfaction, spiritual well-being and self differentiation. Christians, like non-Christians, are hurting.  These hurts are physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual.  Intimacy with God and his Word, appropriation of the cross, and reliance on the Holy Spirit were taught as the essential dynamics of all healing prayer ministries. The project was fundamental to the life and work of ministry--the desire for spiritual growth, commitment, and excitement among the people. The researcher devised a ten-week preaching series and Bible study programme and a nine-week prayer course on prayer. The spiritual well-being of the congregation, Bible study groups, and the selected prayer course was tested pretest and posttest. Quantitative measurement was gained through statistical analysis of scores from identical pre- and posttest questionnaires. The research includes an eight-week, fourteen hour seminar/workshop that features the prayer principles from the Lord's Prayer in theory and in practice. A prayer survey given before and after the training measures changes in the prayer practice of the trainees.
