This is in response to the churches' clamor for enhancement training for the leaders of the region. The primary reason for the study is to help the researcher develop a viable preaching curriculum for training church workers for his own denomination in the province of LA Union. The secondary purpose of this project is to develop a preaching curriculum for Conservative Baptist Seminary - Asia. It relates the journey of an established white congregation reaching out to its diverse neighbors with Christ's love and bringing them into its fellowship. It describes five phases during those 10 years, each with its respective challenges and breakthroughs. To weigh its allegiance to Scripture and its effectiveness in current practice, this study overviews what is currently happening in church decision-making, and analyses how decisions were taken 'by discernment' in Scripture. It also examines discernment in church history. Case-study interviews and a field study examination of the Morris/Olsen method are included. These challenges can include financial and health concerns, future living arrangements, final wishes, and discovering the ultimate value of one's own life. Tragically, however, widows, widowers, the never-married and divorcees are often left to contend with such issues alone. Meanwhile they may have adult children who will also be deeply affected by these issues, and are able to help. But that help rarely comes. Instead silence, ignorance, and misunderstanding prevail between the generations regarding the realities that will impact them both. This project is an examination of these issues and the reasons that prevent aging parents and their adult children from discussing them constructively. The author introduced ways to stimulate communication within the congregation using the appreciative inquiry method in structuring surveys and questioners that guided the conversations of the congregation during workshops and trainings. The purpose of this project was to discover the importance of space in a church's ministry of hospitality. Twenty-four persons from the congregation attended a six-week course during which they completed four assessments that were designed to measure their knowledge and skills in offering hospitality and evaluating the quality of the church's place for extending hospitality. This thesis argues that a greater number of youth can be retained if the preachers have a positive ethos with the youth. This thesis analyzes the Armenian evangelical community and outlines reasons for both negative and positive ethos. Through personal experience, interviews and surveys, a clearer picture of the role of the preacher emerges.
