The project was a course, too short to effect the kind of spiritual transformation that propels evangelism. Young adult faith development, the prophetic possibilities of experiential education, and the archetypal quest for authentic spirituality inform an analysis of participants' reflections from five iterations of the course. Prayer is both traditional and transformational, not offending the staunchest traditionalist or the most starry-eyed transformationalist.  It is perhaps the best natural construct for religious identity, understanding and development. From the viewpoint of change theology, all of these developments may be the manifestation of a natural process of aging.  What would happen if instead of resisting these changes, we processed them as stepping stones to a new spiritual maturity? The author created a curriculum for mothers exploring their faith. Participants received monthly, theme-based materials from scripture, the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, a quotation from a modern source, an activity, a recommended film and reflection questions. After independently engaging these offerings, they gathered in discussion groups to further explore the material. The offerings ranged from receiving a 'thought for the week' email to joining a spiritual formation group. There were 15 different offerings. The intended outcome was a shift in focus from the business of the church to the work of the Holy Spirit. More than half of the regular adult attenders participated. Spirituality is the process of being related to and affected by the Spirit.  The Spirituality Assessment Inventory (SAI) was used to measure spirituality.  A series of sermons emphasizing the disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, fasting, worship, ministry, a rule of life, and spiritual formation were delivered.  Small groups were convened and qualitative data was gathered.
