The project became a reality in 1981.  It was designed to fulfill two goals: 1. to articulate my theological understanding of the relationship between the church's educational ministry and its pastoral ministry of faith development; 2. to develop a three year program of adult education rooted in that theological understanding. The method of study included: classes, readings, Christian education committee work and the parish life and ministry development process. The findings of this study are based on library research, listening and 20 years of the researcher's pastoral experience.  The study concludes that marriage is a this-world human institution planned by God (Gen 2:18, Matt 22:30).  It was planned for alleviation of loneliness, a fulfilling sexual intercourse, procreation, economic support and mutual responsibility for God's creation. Although monogamy is portrayed as the ideal, polygamy is validated as marriage. Out of an intentional and interactive agenda came goals that were acted out in the church school's ministry.
