It also covers contemporary expressions of marriage and divorce and denominational practices.  The research used current books and articles on the subject and a survey.  The author concludes that the Bible leaves the question of divorce open, and that the understanding and the interpretation of marriage in the Christian Church reflects the social situtation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["d722638c-a7e2-43f3-93ff-4762bde0dde7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133855620530176,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:25:55.351Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:27:44Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:19:00Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"3b8c9f3f-ef2b-4a87-8a09-c45c7bd452fa","accessControl_ssim":["2299ec86-5fcd-4c7c-b451-9fc235161944"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Faith stage hermeneutics: a test case: I John 4:1-6"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:27:43Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:51:31Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["e2912451-d471-41a7-8812-9e176405d6cd"],"hasLease_ssim":["a1ea034a-5fa6-4110-9fdf-2d2547b5c4ba"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"advisor_tesim":["Paul Bauermeister"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Arthur Callesen"],"publisher_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"subject_tesim":["Hermeneutics","Faith development","Fowler, James W","Bible--Epistle of John I"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Is James Fowler's Faith Stages Theory (FST) another hermeneutical tool? Human faith can be understood in FST terms.  Christian scripture is comprised of human faith statements .  Thus, FST would seem to be helpful in understanding and applying Christian scripture.  This project reviews Fowler's FST and examines I John 4:1-6 for evidence of Fowler's seven aspects of FST. It infers that the text demonstrates faith stage four aspects and, thus, confirms the thesis that FST can be a hermeneutical tool. Possibilities for further hermeneutical use of FST in Christian learning and scripture exegesis are raised."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["d722638c-a7e2-43f3-93ff-4762bde0dde7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133423930179584,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:19:03.658Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":2,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Arthur Callesen","hits":1,"label":"Arthur Callesen"},{"value":"Donald K Bentz","hits":1,"label":"Donald K Bentz"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Bible--Epistle of John I","hits":1,"label":"Bible--Epistle of John I"},{"value":"Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)","hits":1,"label":"Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)"},{"value":"Divorce","hits":1,"label":"Divorce"},{"value":"Faith development","hits":1,"label":"Faith development"},{"value":"Fowler, James W","hits":1,"label":"Fowler, James W"},{"value":"Hermeneutics","hits":1,"label":"Hermeneutics"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":2,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago","hits":2,"label":"Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":2,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"1987","hits":2,"label":"1987"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago","hits":2,"label":"Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":2,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago","hits":2,"label":"Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":2,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":2,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
