This project explores the struggle from the vantage point of a full-time prison chaplain. The project includes a brief history of prison chaplaincy as well as literature review. Data gathered in fieldwork is processed through a pretribulational, literal millennial perspective of Scripture. The author developed seven guidelines, which deal with grace, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, God, creation, neighbor, and Bible.  He used lay and clergy advisory groups, interviews with knowledgeable persons, perusal of major works in the field, and personal experience to develop and test these guidelines and practices based upon them.
