The Christian vocation of death is part of that theology. The Service of Remembrance and Consecration provides an avenue for the staff and residents to mourn and to prepare for a new resident's arrival.  The Welcoming Ceremony facilitates the second phase of the transition in which a new resident becomes part of the nursing home community.
