In both contexts, that of mysticism and that of psychotherapy, paradoxes are set up in such a fashion that significant life change becomes possible for the mystical seeker/therapy client.  The process of change that is initiated by paradoxes is described using the models of the respective fields.  The thesis then moves to consider the preaching task in the light of these findings, arguing that sermons might also use paradoxical communication as a means of facilitating important change, even salvation, in the lives of congregation members."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715824583311360,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:52:38.735Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"John R Reigstad","hits":1,"label":"John R Reigstad"},{"value":"Kathy Fuson Hurt","hits":1,"label":"Kathy Fuson Hurt"},{"value":"Wayne Reese Blanchett","hits":1,"label":"Wayne Reese Blanchett"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Psychotherapy","hits":3,"label":"Psychotherapy"},{"value":"Church membership","hits":1,"label":"Church membership"},{"value":"Communication--Religious aspects--Christianity","hits":1,"label":"Communication--Religious aspects--Christianity"},{"value":"Group psychotherapy","hits":1,"label":"Group psychotherapy"},{"value":"Mysticism","hits":1,"label":"Mysticism"},{"value":"Paradox","hits":1,"label":"Paradox"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":3,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"Campbell University Divinity School","hits":1,"label":"Campbell University Divinity School"},{"value":"Luther Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Luther Seminary"},{"value":"Meadville Lombard Theological School","hits":1,"label":"Meadville Lombard Theological School"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":3,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"1982","hits":1,"label":"1982"},{"value":"1985","hits":1,"label":"1985"},{"value":"2012","hits":1,"label":"2012"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Miscellaneous","hits":3,"label":"Miscellaneous"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Campbell University Divinity School","hits":1,"label":"Campbell University Divinity School"},{"value":"Luther Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Luther Seminary"},{"value":"Meadville Lombard Theological School","hits":1,"label":"Meadville Lombard Theological School"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":3,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":3,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
