To learn about this, a qualitative narrative approach was used and data was gathered through interviews with eight Ukrainian evangelists. The questions investigated the theological, historical-cultural, and relational contexts in Ukrainian society to understand what is affecting evangelism in Ukraine. The author concluded that there is a good theological foundation in Ukraine, but it is insufficient to result in an evangelical experience. A primary objective was to embody sacred presence in the community. Another objective was to discover principles, practices, language, and metrics for the ministry of presence. The project was rooted in the practices of table fellowship, spiritual formation, and engagement with the Other through invitational conversation, acts of charity, and hospitality.
