In the Biblical Theology chapter, I analyze six key biblical texts (Gen 1:26-27; Exod 20:4; Isa 40:18; Psa 115:3-4; Heb 1:3; Col 1:15) that deal with the concept of 'image.' I then relate them to my understanding of the imago Dei and its relationship to the disciplines of Christian Spiritual Formation, especially as a means of outlining the Creation, Fall, Reconciliation and Restoration of Humankind through Christ. The Systematic Theology chapter highlights the Substantialist or Ontological interpretation of the imago Dei and argues the importance of how 'right being' precedes 'right doing.' The Field Research chapter explores two 'right doing' motifs often found in youth ministry: 1. 'Saved from Hell' versus 'Saved to Christ,' and 2. 'Sin Management' versus 'Becoming like Christ.' the Conclusion emphasizes that our authentic, systematic renewal in Christ (being) necessarily impacts the nature and degree of right (doing) behavior."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128507175141376,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:00:54.675Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:44:07Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:10:08Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"34473224-fa4e-446f-bc36-8c62b1082ae7","accessControl_ssim":["1b4a9aaf-0b8d-43ca-b98a-16ce6313f430"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Intrapersonal intelligence mediated by self-reflective adaptive practice that manages anxiety: learning to lead by giving space"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:44:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:39:01Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["2fd2b6b2-b21c-4302-8856-c5577d272499"],"hasLease_ssim":["b499aa60-5973-4293-b589-f9e06936fba9"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Virginia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David T Gortner"],"year_tesim":["2013"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["William C Thomas"],"publisher_tesim":["Virginia Theological Seminary (Alexandria, VA)"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Anxiety","Clergy--Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis explores the importance of intrapersonal intelligence (Gardner) when mediated by self-reflective adaptive practice (Heifetz) on clergy anxiety. Intrapersonal intelligence is active self-awareness: the capacity to learn and adapt to the factors of one's own reality. A reflection-in-action (Schön) method evolved built on Argyris' double-loop learning using the work of Bowen, Friedman, and Steinke. The outcome is increased non-anxious ordained leadership capacity through change and development in leadership style and skills. The research method is autoenthnographic, includes a 360∞ study of the author's conflict management styles (Leas), and is grounded in the theological questions raised in Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716928665681920,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:10:11.670Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:43:38Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:16:21Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"53e5e95b-8c78-4ee2-a530-49079de7504a","accessControl_ssim":["bb83e122-5b85-4302-bb0a-a742390cfae7"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Catechetical preaching: a purposeful element for faith formation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:43:37Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:35:23Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["255128c6-d097-48a9-8f9c-7f66e777c869"],"hasLease_ssim":["d69e33fd-3ef9-4ad0-86fe-511810b014e2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2013"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Gaertner, Evan Paul"],"publisher_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Catechisms","Luther, Martin, 1483-1546","Catechetics--Lutheran churches"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Catechetical preaching was an instrumental element of the Reformation.
