Participants positively benefited from exposure to the lives and influences of the Church Fathers and to spiritual practices such as fasting and prayer. The project motivates the continued pursuit of spiritual formation as a relational journey of faith and accountability. Suicide is a major problem confronting every branch of the military. This study focuses on Airmen in the enlisted rank of E-4 to E-5. These Airmen are entering the ranks of the non-commissioned officer corps. Each participant was presented with a survey immediately before and after the safeTALK class to measure its effectiveness in making them more alert to the possibility of suicide, their confidence to ask directly about suicide, and connect those at risk with a keep safe connection. Sixty days after the class, another survey was sent by e-mail to examine the participant's retention of lessons learned in safeTALK and their willingness and ability to implement the steps for a successful intervention. Those who identified themselves as having personally experienced suicide through the attempted suicide or death of a loved one were asked to sit down for an interview with the author. Lessons learned from those who agreed to be interviewed were used to examine how their personal experience affected their motivation to help a person at risk and gauge safeTALK's effectiveness. These environments hold hardships which can cause physical, psychological, spiritual, and/or ministry stresses. Mission agencies need to provide more effective pastoral care to mitigate early attrition from high-risk fields.  Qualitative methodology was used to study the expectations, stressors, coping attitudes and behaviors, and member care services received by workers. The joy and fruit of ministry far outweighed the costs and risks of service for these servants. The act of ministry provided two opportunities to educate parishioners about their parish day school and about Episcopal schools in order to increase support for the school as a ministry of the parish. Quantitative and qualitative assessments were made through surveys and a focus group. These assessments suggest that providing opportunities to welcome and educate parishioners about their parish school can increase support for the school and improve the school-parish relationship. The theological foundation incorporates the missio dei, hospitality, and the Trinity. What makes this retreat and The Sourcebook unique is that it integrates the Hindu chakra system and world spiritual traditions. The chakra system is an ancient belief that there are energy centers in the body that govern daily activity. Using a pro-active research method, members were surveyed and interviewed, resulting in a grief program which includes education, grief groups and systematic follow-up. It was discovered during the project that evangelism was a surprising benefit of the grief process. This has implications for the practice of the Christian faith.  In my ministry persons coming to me are struggling to re-contextualize their faith in these realities.  In this thesis I use the cosmology of Thomas Berry who links the three governing principles of the universe (differentiation, autopoiesis and communion) to the Trinity, then develop evolutionary and Trinitarian theology, applying it to my development of the integral program of Village Earth.
