Research followed a mixed-method approach. Interviews with nationals were followed by the development of a survey instrument. Thirty-three church planters trained by Crossover Communications International were studied. The research studied motivation and de-motivation from six perspectives: spiritual, economic, political/religious, relational, ministry activities, and training. The study found that Moldovan church planters were motivated most by spiritual vibrancy and close relationships. The structure of the doctrine of entire sanctification, which focuses on personal experience, is too grounded in the past experiences of others.  This leaves the preacher to try and bring others into a foreign experience or convince them they really have had the experience the preacher is referring to.  This thesis will provide a fresh metaphor for understanding the doctrine of entire sanctification along with two hermeneutical approaches that will be pivotal for the preacher of doctrine. The study explores the development of the biblical and theological history limiting women's vocational choices.  It traces the enactment, well into the 1960s, of 'disjoining' in the deaconess order.  Remembrances of affected women enflesh the archival records.  A theological framework is applied to assess the quality of the apology.  The disjoining and the apology are both stories of lost opportunity.  The women lost vocational expression and suffered economic and social loss. Worshipers participated in this contemplative approach to reading Scripture during six midweek Lenten services.  In three months, Sunday worshipers' sermon ratings increased almost one third (32%); this increase is statistically significant (p = .00). The Lectio Divina-style approach was introduced to a second congregation, but without the experiential participation. Study materials included the primary preaching text, along with exegetical and devotional reflections.  Some participants studied the material individually. Others studied it collectively (before a meeting, blogging, small group).  Sermon surveys with both quantitative and qualitative questions measured their responses. The surveys indicated that those who studied the texts ahead of time had a more positive listening experience. Drawing on the history of early Salvation Army preaching into critical conversation with the felt realities of postmodernity, this thesis argues for a recovery of biblical preaching that seeks to name what is at stake for the listener. The project surveyed congregants' attitudes and experiences of priesthood. Responses were compared with 'official' church teaching in the context of a parish-wide conversation. Parishioners identified both tensions and possibilities for exploring lay and ordained ministries. The project illustrates how a stage 5 modal level of aspiration among church leaders can encourage a church to serve the needs of people as different developmental stages simultaneously.  Church leaders who can reliably identify an individual's stage of faith, and who speak multiple 'languages of faith,' can adapt their ministries of discipleship, evangelism and pastoral care to effectively meet each individual's needs. She charted questions on a Likert continuum, adding open-ended and reflection questions on a second page, and solicited volunteers to participate in the research. Seven worshipers volunteered, and attended four consecutive Sunday services, reflecting, answering questions on the form, and being interviewed.
