The author uses the West African oral traditions of storytelling as practiced by the West African griot to develop the images of pastor/griot and the preacher/griot.  Using these images and the Emmaus Road story found in Luke 24:13-35, the author develops the Emmaus Road model for pastoral care and the formation of the funeral sermon. The first chapter describes some complaints from the parishioners in the diocese of Kirinyaga of clergy who are currently serving in various parishes and are not qualified enough to meet the needs of the Christians in the pews.  The second chapter is an outline of curriculum issues in ACK colleges.  The third chapter gives Biblical Foundations for Theological Education, and the impact of these foundations on theological education today.  The fourth chapter presents the research data analysis based on the five categories of the respondents who completed and returned the questionnaires.  There respondents were: students, clergy, laity, tutors and bishops. An outline of the issues and concerns put forward by the respondents shows that review and evaluation of the current curriculum is urgent and important. It explores the HIV/AIDS-related teaching and ministry of the guru H. H. Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati and her human care service organization the River Fund, both at Kashi Ashram in Sebastian, FL. After providing her developmental biography, it summarizes her verbal, artistic, and kinesthetic forms of teaching. She responds to HIV/AIDS with the Hindu concept of seva (service) that follows the Hindu religious path of Karma Yoga (action). The project then examines the history and work of the River Fund, paying a particular focus to its de facto AIDS hospice, the River House. The organization is unique in both the Hindu and American religious contexts. The goal of the project is to develop material that can be used in congregations and by individuals for study and reflection on the subject of money in corporate and individual life. First, to offer research and evaluation for the seminary/academic community on the subject of our internal, personal relationship with money and the human behaviors that result from that relationship. Second, to offer a theological and theoretical framework for every audience by which to approach the various narratives. The techniques which were taught were drawn from various monastic traditions and Christian mystics from throughout the ages.  They were presented over the course of eight weeks of study.  In addition to learning various styles of contemplative prayer the participants were asked to employ them for at least 15 minutes a day, five days a week, for each of the eight weeks. Biblical exegesis demonstrates that baptism, though multivalent, is the rite of entrance into the new community established by the redeeming work of Christ.  An historical survey of the Reformed tradition, giving special attention to the work of John Calvin and the documents of the Westminster Assembly, concludes that the Reformed tradition has held to a highly developed baptismal theology, seeing the sacrament not as a mere symbol but as an instrumental means of grace.  Baptismal theology has, however, become a source of debate and division, often focused on the question of 'baptismal regeneration.' Government policies in some states in northern Nigeria are tilted to favor Muslims. The enforcement of the sharia legal system in twelve northern states in Nigeria has marginalized the Christians and made the mission and evangelism of the Church difficult. The innovation by the Wusasa Diocese to reach out using techniques like personal evangelism, discipleship, dialogue, education and poverty alleviation programmes are yielding results. Muslims are coming to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Dialogue has helped to minimize violence and has promoted mutual understanding between Christians and Muslims. Churches that choose to die can make a significant impact by investing their resources into Christian colleges, church planting, and mission endeavors. The author experienced this process when he led Evergreen Christian Church to close and distribute their assets to Puget Sound Christian College and the other missions they supported. A workshop was designed to educate struggling churches on the life cycle of a church and to suggest options. The project sought to answer the question whether intentional instruction from scripture over a nine-week period would increase per capita spending toward the local church with corresponding changes in attitudes toward giving. The method of instruction was to administer a pre-course evaluation followed by nine weeks of instruction, followed by a post-course evaluation.
