The focus was to create community through a process of dialogue in an effort to define the meaning of patient focused care. As the organization was undergoing considerable crisis (provoked in part by fiscal restraints at the time), a special emphasis was placed on organizational grief. The two domains engaged in the study were from organizational development, specifically the work of Peter Senge as it applies to organizational learning and pastoral ministry in the context of a Critical Care Unit in crisis. The findings validate the learning organization as a concept in support of change and empowerment. In addition, a theological/pastoral perspective, while recognizing the value of the organic, relational nature of organizational design, pointed to the need for the development of personal awareness, as an issue of capacity for relationship in organizational learning. As well, organizational grief was identified as a catalyst for dialogue as it enabled transformation in the organization, the creation of community and further, enabled a new definition of patient focused care."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128051082330112,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:53:39.712Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:26:29Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:00:04Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a61ed650-68a5-4c28-9346-060189c2af5d","accessControl_ssim":["a11866ae-0194-45e2-9a67-f3a202feae12"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Training Russian lay pastors: important issues as identified by Russian church planters"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:26:26Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:57:16Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0bee9b3f-6ff4-48a7-985c-fb227c74b9c4"],"hasLease_ssim":["401e3f6c-07b7-47ec-99be-945c5fb53067"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Biblical Seminary and School of Missions"],"advisor_tesim":["William H Jones"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"location_tesim":["Russia"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Lawrence R Sallee"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Biblical Seminary and School of Missions"],"subject_tesim":["Church history","Evangelistic work","Church work","Church development, New"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["'Lay pastors' lead many Russian churches, but few of them have access to formal theological education, which often consists of Western forms and content. The revitalization of a church is not revival or reformation. It is the biblically delineated and identified principles given to leaders to enable a church to move from its disabled and diseased status to one of vitality and health. This dissertation will point out the necessity of this ministry which will be clarified in the introduction of this paper. This dissertation has seven chapters. Chapter one explains why revitalization is necessary. Chapter two gives several key principles of church revitalization while chapter three gives a biblical paradigm for revitalization. The content of chapter four is a review of four contemporary books that have been written on the subject of revitalization. Chapter five highlights the 'Embers to a Flame' church revitalization conference materials and chapter six suggests several key roles that pastors and leadership can play in keeping their church vital and healthy. Finally, chapter seven offers a look at recent Embers to a Flame conference evaluations as well as candid responses from pastors and elders who attended the conference."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716220878979072,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:58:56.672Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:22:19Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:07:11Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b41cbf26-2c75-443d-8e8f-b9d25531e7d2","accessControl_ssim":["31a9ae5b-7102-4108-808e-dc10d1bf5c6a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Blanchard Church of Christ handbook: a curriculum development and evaluation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:22:18Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:20:02Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["6a1ce771-f6b8-4069-8611-54f12e1fde57"],"hasLease_ssim":["c4b5c649-e7fe-4e04-b7c2-e108330b5ece"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Emmanuel School of Religion"],"advisor_tesim":["Eleanor Daniel"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Russel John Moldovan"],"publisher_tesim":["Emmanuel School of Religion"],"subject_tesim":["Christian education of adults","Lay Church work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project was a curriculum development and evaluation.
