The project included three main phases: research, strategy development, and presentation. Phase one researched demographics of Theodore, Alabama and numerous books on church planting, church revitalization, and church health. The project director also attended three workshops on church planting. An annotated bibliography was used to design a curriculum for phase two. Phase two selected a group of church leaders from First Baptist Church of Theodore who met for five sessions to study the best practices of church planting and develop a church plant strategy for FBCT. Phase three completed the project as the church plant strategy team designed a strategy and a written narrative before presenting the proposal to the deacon body of FBCT. He conducted an analysis of ten years of membership data to determine trends in growth and retention, followed by research of existing new member assimilation strategies. Using this information, the project director, with input from the strategy planning team, developed a new member assimilation strategy for First Baptist Church Colbert Heights. However, few participate in a spiritual strategic journey that enables them to better pursue God's calling. The thesis of this project is that strategic planning competencies enable leaders to help churches become the missional agencies God desires. Identifying church core values, mission, and vision are the first steps of strategic planning and are necessary to pursue God's preferred future. The project director conducted extensive research through lending libraries and online. Research resulted in a curriculum used to equip selected church leaders. The first step involved an in-depth study of FBCH's attendance trends from 2005 to 2015 based on the annual church profile reports and recorded church history. The project director compared discipleship strategies of churches with similar characteristics and conducted a survey of church leaders to determine the current condition of FBCH discipleship. The research showed that FBCH plateaued in attendance from 2008 to 2013. The project director determined that FBCH needed a disciple-making strategy that led to multiplication and focused on transformation. In the third step of the project, the director presented the developed adult discipleship strategy to Oakville Baptist Church for approval. Oakville Baptist Church unanimously approved the adult discipleship strategy. The project consisted of two phases.  During phase one the project director explored the demographics of Covington County, Alabama, and the profile of Covington Baptist Association Churches.  During this phase the project director also investigated existing strategy models in order to discover the best practices in strategy development.  During phase two the project director led a selected group of leaders of the Covington Baptist Association of Covington County, Alabama, to develop a multifaceted strategy for the association. The project director analyzed new member assimilation data at Eastwood Baptist Church from 2009 until 2012 and discovered a low percentage of new member assimilation. The project director researched the fields of new member assimilation and strategy development along with the biblical basis of church membership. After the research segment the project director led Eastwood Baptist Church to create a New Member Orientation Committee to assist in developing a new member orientation strategy. The project director trained the New Member Orientation Committee to understand the basics of new member orientation and to develop a strategy to improve assimilation. The project director and New Member Orientation Committee developed a new member orientation strategy and concluded the project by presenting the strategy to the members of Eastwood Baptist Church, Monroeville,
