The assumption that underlies the project is that if teachers can experience intersection between personal story, personal experience, the biblical story, and faith community experience, to tell one will be to tell the other.  As a result, the Bible will become biographical, which makes it easier to communicate.  Teaching then will be discernibly different in the church education experience.  The project was a six-week teacher education experience for mid-high teachers that utilized denominational materials as the primary resource.  The findings supported the primary assumptions: teaching was conducted in a different manner and mid-high pupils experienced a renewed enthusiasm for Bible study."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127248009428992,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:40:53.842Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:09:55Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:41:57Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e504a967-393c-4b63-bafc-7d42ae545dd5","accessControl_ssim":["73bd38d5-57ef-4306-ba39-cc4aa7644db2"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Ministry to women: addressing issues of identity and spiritual growth, using insights from Jungian psychology"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:09:54Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:41:07Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["e83a2072-0e8e-401f-b5c7-de8863fb990a"],"hasLease_ssim":["ed06983d-19ab-4747-b59e-b86a69d540eb"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Leroy T Howe"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Linda M Smith"],"publisher_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University"],"subject_tesim":["Church work with women","Women","Jung, C. The programs include methods of self exploration and sharing that enable women to feel affirmed, accepted and connected to themselves, each other and God. Reflection reveals that techniques and ideas influenced by Jungian psychology, a participatory leadership style, and a warm homelike environment cooperatively enable transformation. Dialogical counseling and guided meditation are its major methodological divisions.  The meditation component leads the client's psyche into a Christian religious state by following the intensified faithing schema.  The schema is comprised of archetypal imagery and Christian belief statements which activate the client's affectively charged cognitive faithing structures. Creative growth symbols and crisis intervention procedures restructure preconscious negative mental-emotional-spiritual concepts which then tend to become behaviorally concrete.  The thesis is: Faithing is the psyche's primary operation.  Faithing therapy rests upon academic research, and is validated by thirty years of observation in parish and clinical practice."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720653694173184,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:09:24.134Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:08:55Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:32:13Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"29f1d09b-8f0b-4a73-b8ce-fa80aab5f2e6","accessControl_ssim":["6d8b945f-7f7b-49f1-b84a-66bc92460b0f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Is there any good news for the oppressor: the promise for doing liberation preaching in a first world context"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:08:55Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:21:44Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0166656b-d95b-4d43-8e14-7f21468e27a8"],"hasLease_ssim":["0ab60c56-315c-41eb-8874-e938c0b7ae0a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["William K McElvaney"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Darrell Payne Coats"],"publisher_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University"],"subject_tesim":["Liberation theology","Developed countries","Preaching--Study and teaching","Narrative preaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project is twofold: 1) to discover any homiletic styles which may help facilitate the reception of prophetic or liberation preaching; 2) to tailor the content of such preaching for a first world congregation. The central focus is a workshop methodology which is progressive in design, content, and format, and is based on principles of androgogy.  The workshops give: 1) an experience of shared Christian praxis by using the theme 'coming to know God'; 2) a knowledge, practical understanding and an opportunity to use shared Christian praxis; 3) a demonstration of how the Sadlier Religion Program uses shared Christian praxis as a teaching-learning process in the K-8 curriculum; 4) a redefinition of shared Christian praxis which enables classroom religion teachers to use the process effectively. The workshops are designed to educate religion teachers in Catholic school religion programs and in parishes.  They have been successfully given throughout the United States in Roman Catholic dioceses since 1983."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126713342623744,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:32:23.944Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":7,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"A Eugene Dyess","hits":1,"label":"A Eugene Dyess"},{"value":"Darrell Payne Coats","hits":1,"label":"Darrell Payne Coats"},{"value":"Eleanor Ann Brownell","hits":1,"label":"Eleanor Ann Brownell"},{"value":"Glenn A Noblin","hits":1,"label":"Glenn A Noblin"},{"value":"Jack G Schutte","hits":1,"label":"Jack G Schutte"},{"value":"Linda M Smith","hits":1,"label":"Linda M Smith"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Practice (Theology)","hits":4,"label":"Practice (Theology)"},{"value":"Tests and measurements in religion","hits":1,"label":"Tests and measurements in religion"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Fowler, James W","hits":2,"label":"Fowler, James W"},{"value":"Psychology","hits":2,"label":"Psychology"},{"value":"Theology","hits":2,"label":"Theology"},{"value":"Alienation (Social psychology)","hits":1,"label":"Alienation (Social psychology)"},{"value":"Bible--Study","hits":1,"label":"Bible--Study"},{"value":"Catholic Church","hits":1,"label":"Catholic Church"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":7,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University","hits":7,"label":"Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":7,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"1987","hits":7,"label":"1987"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Perkins School of Theology","hits":7,"label":"Perkins School of Theology"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":7,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Perkins School of Theology","hits":7,"label":"Perkins School of Theology"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":7,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":7,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
