This project asserts that when the differences are analyzed and understood and the lines of convergence are observed, the differences are of such minor importance in producing salvation and developing Christian character that preaching and teaching either of the opposing views as a doctrine needed in the Church should be avoided. Spiritual formation requires both an intentional environment and a place in the seminary curriculum.  The methodology entailed creating a dialogue between the seminarians' experiences in the seminary community, the Christian tradition, and a cultural resource, self psychology, to propose a concrete pastoral action. Major literature on theological education and field education was reviewed and questions were raised regarding the seminary's mission statement, goals, and curriculum.
