This field project sought to rectify this situation within a very limited population by studying the reality of oppression from a black theological perspective with the congregation served by the author. Introduction of black theology to a black congregation helped determine the impact of these concepts on black Christians and develop information that could be used to structure future lectures on black theology for black congregations. Through the use of a survey research model 300 leaders with various experience levels completed a questionnaire testing this hypothesis.  The results are evaluated positively in terms of the response and through theological reflection. These trained listeners then called on other church members--especially the disaffected--in an attempt to achieve reconciliation.
