A survey of representative Anglican theologians since Cranmer establishes a growth of teaching on eucharistic offering and sacrifice. Through the help of the author's investigation into the socio-cultural background of the Nigerians he was able to deduce and see glaringly the correlation between indigenous motifs of sacrifice among the Nigerians and the Christian beliefs on which he based his argument and the experimental liturgy."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799721215031508992,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:18:19.467Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:24:15Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:25:24Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"79e36205-24ee-457b-99c2-46f6a9c678c7","accessControl_ssim":["2571882d-df1a-4061-b9e1-3d5b6ebd47e2"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Love is the rubric: a cultic commentary on 1 Corinthians"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:24:14Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:43:37Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["661a8d16-cdaa-4aa8-88c2-2db75f20e9cd"],"hasLease_ssim":["954f28ae-f4b9-4308-8ccb-3305f12e2076"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Paul W Meyer"],"year_tesim":["1982"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Daniel Patrick McGeachy"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Love--Religious aspects","Worship","Liturgics","Bible. Every portion of the letter is squeezed for every inference that can be drawn as to 1st century cultic practice which can be translated into our contemporary liturgy.  Directions, examples, implications, and first principles drawn from the text of 1 Corinthians are conjoined by the author with the contemporary church at worship.  He then describes what we may do as contemporary Protestants to recapture something of the New Testament fervor. The findings are: 1) 1 Corinthians is a unity, built around the central theme of the church's need to express its joy in the gospel as it upbuilds itself in love; 2) The great hymns to love (13) and resurrection (15) are not extraneous additions, but central expressions of that underlying message; 3) If we are to rediscover this, it is clear that we must build on that same foundation, to wait for and encourage each other, to make room for great difference of taste and doctrine, and to discover our unity in the resurrection.  Decency and order may be the necessary machinery for carrying out the task, but our business is joy, and the rubric is love."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717886879596544,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:25:25.494Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":8,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Daniel Patrick McGeachy","hits":1,"label":"Daniel Patrick McGeachy"},{"value":"James C Gregg","hits":1,"label":"James C Gregg"},{"value":"John Lancaster","hits":1,"label":"John Lancaster"},{"value":"Kerry M Enright","hits":1,"label":"Kerry M Enright"},{"value":"Naolto Sekiya","hits":1,"label":"Naolto Sekiya"},{"value":"Paul J Gravrock","hits":1,"label":"Paul J Gravrock"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Agape feast","hits":1,"label":"Agape feast"},{"value":"Indigenization of worship","hits":1,"label":"Indigenization of worship"},{"value":"Religious surveys","hits":1,"label":"Religious surveys"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Liturgics","hits":8,"label":"Liturgics"},{"value":"Anglican Communion","hits":2,"label":"Anglican Communion"},{"value":"Culture","hits":2,"label":"Culture"},{"value":"Lord's Supper","hits":2,"label":"Lord's Supper"},{"value":"Religion and culture","hits":2,"label":"Religion and culture"},{"value":"Worship","hits":2,"label":"Worship"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[{"value":"Africa","hits":1,"label":"Africa"},{"value":"Japan","hits":1,"label":"Japan"},{"value":"New Zealand","hits":1,"label":"New Zealand"},{"value":"Nigeria","hits":1,"label":"Nigeria"}],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":8,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"San Francisco Theological Seminary","hits":8,"label":"San Francisco Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":8,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"1984","hits":2,"label":"1984"},{"value":"1982","hits":1,"label":"1982"},{"value":"1990","hits":1,"label":"1990"},{"value":"1992","hits":1,"label":"1992"},{"value":"1996","hits":1,"label":"1996"},{"value":"1997","hits":1,"label":"1997"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"San Francisco Theological Seminary","hits":8,"label":"San Francisco Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":8,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"San Francisco Theological Seminary","hits":8,"label":"San Francisco Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":8,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":8,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
