From a literary review of theodicy, the book of Job and crisis management, the author develops numerous hypotheses regarding ministry to critically ill parishioners.  He then surveys and interviews critically ill persons who are both members of selected 'mainline' churches and residents of the Lower Yakima Valley of Washington state. The purpose of this project is to bring together biblical references and values, a study of current literature and insights gained from a survey of the attitudes of youth, to produce a program which influences young people in their attitudes and expectations regarding marriage. It reviews relevant historical, biblical and other literature in the field as a background for the project. The study concludes that such persons need to have a valued place in the church.  To determine some of the obstacles to integrating persons with mental retardation into the church, a series of personal interviews are conducted from which twelve major obstacles are identified. Its purpose is to begin a denomination-wide discussion on ecumenism in the KEC through the design and implementation of an educational proposal on the ecumenical movement. This project contributes to the establishment of a firm theological foundation for KEC ecumenical participation. It provides a theological critique of some of the anti-ecumenical arguments among the KEC and Korean churches and analyzes the reasons why the KEC withdrew from the KNCC in 1961.
