Many current programs and activities are based upon historical traditions.  The author saw a need to evaluate present procedures in the light of history feeling that such a study would reveal any effective or fragmented practices and policies, strengthen the present ministry, and contribute to the design of future strategy.  After reading extensively in the areas of biblical and theological foundations for missions, missiology, historiography and Spanish history, the author thoroughly investigated the records, minutes, documents and archives of the Baptist mission to Spain and interviewed missionaries and Spaniards having a personal knowledge of the history of the mission.  Letters and documents were obtained from other religious agencies. Organizations working with the physically handicapped were investigated for their findings, procedures and assistance.  Organizations made up of disabled persons and a select number of pastors, doctors, and other professionals were interviewed concerning their work with handicapped persons. The proposed model was tested with five selected test training groups and evaluated by trainee-evaluators of the same test groups.  The result was positive. Investigating alcoholism-complicated marriages and a control group of non-alcholic couples revealed that non-drinking marriages can experience superior marital satisfaction.  Two factors contributed to this satisfaction: each marriage partner took responsibility for his or her own growth and change and both mates shared a common spiritual life. The church has sought to meet this problem with a strong storytelling approach.  The writer's thesis is that storyteller training is important for improving teacher quality.  To aid in training, the writer has developed a workshop guide through which even unskilled storytellers can help each other improve their skills, especially with use of tape recorders. Foundation studies covered the Korean church school context and the psychological, theological, and biblical backgrounds of story. After an in-depth analysis of RET, the study examines the difference between a scientific and a theological methodology and reviews the theological method of Bernard Lonergan.  Building upon Lonergan's thesis that a person needs to accept the responsibility to transform him/herself, his/her worlds, and his/her meanings, the dissertation examines a Pauline anthropology to consider the possibilities to equip persons with cognitive insights so that they might be able to do so. This study assesses personal and professional needs of ministers in the Christian Church and critically examines and analyzes existing clergy support systems at local, regional and denominational levels. Methodology includes research of literature in the field, survey of methods of other denominations in assessing clergy needs; research and reflection upon clergy support systems within the Christian Church (Disciples).  From a dozen clergy support systems within the church, the author determined that the three most effective are: peer/colleague support groups, local congregations' pastoral relations committees, and the church's pension fund.
