Chapter 1 provides the general definitions, limitations, and context for the project. Chapter 2 offers an overview of wisdom literature, presents a definition of the genre, and discusses its general characteristics. Chapter 3 provides an overview of Christian approaches to proclaiming wisdom literature throughout Christian history and outlines a proposed model for preaching from the wisdom genre. Chapter 4 outlines the implementation of the model at Blue Valley Baptist Church in Overland Park, Kansas. The hermeneutical approaches of Bryan Chapell, Sidney Greidanus, and Graeme Goldsworthy were reviewed and evaluated. A synthesized hermeneutic was developed in which the author sought to capitalize on the strengths and minimize the weaknesses of the three approaches. After discussing the biblical and theological mandates for apologetics as well as the development of the current postmodern worldview, a case is made that the church needs to respond with a well-reasoned worldview/philosophical argument for the authority and inspiration of the Bible.     A description of the project is given, describing the process from promotion to evaluation. The primary content of the project was a sermons series which was supplemented by an apologetics class. This work contains a brief description of the sermons and a synopsis of the major apologetic arguments of each.     The final chapter provides a description of the empirical data derived from the evaluation of a focus group, and the conclusions were clear. The biblical and theological basis for regular Bible reading is established.  The psychology of habit and the application of motivational techniques provides a model for the promotion of behavioral change.  A specific year-long program of stimuli is designed to motivate the congregation of First Baptist Church to establish and maintain a daily habit of Bible reading.
