Eleven of these institutions are in North America.  The emergence of spiritual formation offices on each campus is a rather new development.  This project describes and critiques spiritual development programs at four Nazarene universities in North America.  The study explores the interaction between a Wesleyan understanding of sanctification and spiritual formation. Information gathered through open-ended interviews was used to determine what programs were most effective. The biblical basis for inclusion in a local church as a necessity for spiritual growth is established, and the core beliefs, values, and procedures of Compass Church are systematized and developed into an effective and engaging curriculum.
