The nature of volunteerism and the theological basis for ministry were researched.  The project involved a two-sided emphasis.  First, a computerized ministry file was developed for aiding church leaders in discovering available volunteers.  Secondly, a ministries notebook was developed to aid potential volunteers in discovering available ministry positions.  A procedure was implemented for the use of both tools. A course of study was written to be taught in ten lessons covering the following subjects: the mandate to evangelize, memorization, personal testimony, gospel content, commitment, pre-evangelism, handling objections, and follow up.  An accompanying teacher's manual was provided.  Teaching methodology included the use of an overhead projector, role playing, lecture, discussion, and small group activities. A handbook resulted which enriched the understanding of spiritual life and ministry in-process.  Positive feedback, as well as constructive criticism, came from the participating volunteers.
