Four classes incorporated blessing based spiritual nurture elements: creating sacred space, hospitality, holy listening, building community, prayer, and Bible study. The researcher implemented a diversity workshop, cultural heritage awareness night and focus group.  A questionnaire was used to develop qualitative data to evaluate the project.  The final product was a 'compendium of connectivity' which identified how current members may see new members as empowered, connected, or disconnected. The project sought to motivate present church members to be intentional about including new members.  The Sunday worshipping congregation was included through presentation of related topics. Membership classes addressed strengths and differences between people of urban and rural backgrounds.  The church programming board created assisting strategies to integrate new members.  The report outlines biblical and theological bases for integrating newcomers, with sermon and class content suggestions. This project was designed to answer that question and to be an instrument used by other churches in Appalachia to enhance the meaning of church membership.  The project utilized a thirteen-week discussion manual and video.  The course dealt with those topics of interest determined by members who were surveyed within the author's context of ministry. The project did so through the high school's active support of parish youth retreats, through encouragement of student involvement in the ministries of the parish and through providing school time and space for interaction of the parish staffs and their youth on a quarterly basis.  A pre- and post-project self-report questionnaire was administered to the student participants as a means of determining the success of the project.
