Each generation of church leaders must consider how they will empower the coming generations toward ministry fruitfulness. This study examined the process and intentionality of leadership development in Bible churches in the Greater Houston area. A comparative analysis of Paul's development of Timothy, from 1-2 Timothy, as well as secondary literature, books written the past 10 years, read by Bible church pastor's and face-to-face interviews provided insights for this researcher to aid pastors in their development of leaders. Members of the congregations were surveyed following six sermons on Romans 12 and five sermons on Old Testament heroes. Additionally, participants attended a two-day retreat and completed pre- and post- surveys. The results of the survey confirmed that daily worship should be a prerequisite to church leadership. Sermons and a survey drafted by the researcher served as the basis for determining their fulfillment level. Employing the qualitative surveys and questionnaires, they were able to express their fulfillment levels. Consequently, the study revealed that the majority expressed fulfillment in their respective roles. Church leaders at Campbell African Methodist Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. participated in an eight-week Bible study on faith, love, and power, and the healing ministry of Jesus and its implications for the church today. Additionally, participants attended a focus group session to outline the healing ministry of the contemporary church. Study results indicate a renewed passion for ministry. The data triangulation methodology included surveys, interviews, and audio/videotape recordings. The researcher discovered that, while a majority had an awareness of the congregation's culture and language, only 40% surveyed understood how culture and language applied to their roles as church leaders.
