A series of house and one-on-one meetings were conducted with the congregation and the community to model the action-reflection-action principle of community organizing. A new model of ministry, specifically a seven-ministry model, replaced the committee structure of the Session. The church implemented a leadership program to teach youth how to manage a media ministry. Youth were taught by multi-media specialists principles of pre-production, production, post-production, and promotion. Using a questionnaire for pre- and post-test, levels of self-esteem were measured. Results show that media ministry activities contribute to the maintenance of youth's positive self-esteem. Further results show support for the thesis that the youth of today can contribute greatly to the local church. The context of this study is First United Methodist Church, Boerne, Texas.  The intervention used to achieve this goal is 'Igniting Ministry,' the denomination's national media campaign.  The findings were that this test congregation far exceeded national studies and local surveys, focus groups, and interviews. A self-designes questionnaire was used to measure effects of spiritual formation in the congregation. A small group participated in a retreat where they learned spiritual practices, accountability, and support.  Measurements included journal entries, surveys, and observations.  When compared to a control group, those who participated scored significantly higher in all areas of spiritual growth (both individually and corporately). The project was implemented at a military installation with only one chapel, which must be amicably utilized by several faith groups.  Nine monthly meetings were selected with the two chapel Advisory Councils to ascertain attitudes toward faith group collaboration.  This model's instruments (e.g., vision statement, sermons and literature) can be used in other diverse chapel communities.  The pre-test and post-test questionnaires revealed that the instruments were effective in changing attitudes and also in increasing
