The author worked at a major urban hospital to give spiritual care to palliative care outpatients. The author also surveyed fourteen area palliative care organizations to see how they provide spiritual care for this population. With this conviction he examined the conditions of the Korean Church and the local church, the Bok-Ji church, he was serving as a senior pastor, and found that the church had too much focused on the side of individual salvation with paying little attention to joining the universal salvific work of God. At the end of his thesis, based on his Wesleyan belief and his pastoral experience, the researcher proposed on how a local church can operate its social welfare ministry successfully. The author designed the program for the elderly church members and conducted with class meetings. The thesis of this paper is that Bowen theory can be a valuable formational resource to pastors for growing in the ability to minister faithfully in the face of the intense anxiety manifesting in congregations. The seminar met one day each month for eight months. This paper offers a theological foundation for pastoral formation, an introduction to the essential elements of Bowen theory, and draws correlations between theology and the theory. The paper includes a description of the curriculum components and learning methodologies used in the seminar. His congregation is made up of soldiers who are twenty to twenty-two and do not like the army life.  However, the soldiers encounter religions by choice in the military service.  Many soldiers come into contact with Christianity.  The author has thought about what these young soldiers want in their own spiritual lives and how the military church can help them. The author therefore asked the following questions regarding military mission in the light of pastoral care: (1) What is the meaning of military service for men, and what is the meaning of the period of military service in the life cycle?  (2) What is the soldiers' life before enrollment in military service, and what do they think of their lives after their service is completed? The research question is 'how can a congregation improve its ability to reach into the margins of the community?' The case study method was used to apply specific Wesleyan principles to a local congregation and evaluate their effectiveness for a congregation to minister in a community that is radically diverse. There are three issues to be explored in this study. First is to examine a congregation's process of reaching into a very diverse community. Second is to identify new methods and processes of reaching into a community that is rich in diversity.
