Thus, we need to find ways to tend to the consequent spiritual needs of employees and their secular employing institutions. Its origin reflects a dual involvement in peace and justice work and adult education, and its scope has resulted in a model for education for peace and justice ministry.  The process employed in delineating the model is akin to that of an action/reflection mode of learning.  It is rooted in longstanding peace and justice action, and is expressive  of diverse experience in adult education. Through a synthesis of research and reflection, action and analysis, the dissertation seeks to systematize theological and educational resources into a coherent model of education for peace and justice ministry. The project offers a theology of ministry and a methodology for enabling the parish community to claim its ministry in the world and in the church.  Recorded interviews with staff members and those who share in the various ministries provide the foundation for the analysis. The study is based on a Factor Analysis of 155 questionnaires, gathered from individuals who attend 12 UCC churches and one conference. It reveals that dual-paycheck families do not value any function of a church's ministry more than single-paycheck families.  It also reveals that the more one is involved in church activities, the more one values all church activities.
