The resource was designed to provide families with an extended case study of the international adoption process. The most prominent finding was Goal #5: Institutional Living. Parents of internationally adopted children find themselves at a loss to comfort, develop, and discipline boys and girls who grew up in orphanages. The premise was that pastors can easily and inadvertently neglect the spiritual health of their own children. A panel of clergy couples evaluated the resource, Pastoring First Church, on a Likert agreement scale questionnaire and with open-ended questions. This panel indicated that the resource met its goals based upon their high evaluations. It focuses on COGIC pks who share thier stories. Findings reveal that home life is foremost in relation to impact on identity formation. Three pk types were established, in response to growing up under the authority of a preacher/parent. Recommendations were made to increase positive impacts and reduce negative impacts on identity formation.
