He tested this through eight, one-hour, weekly, teaching sessions, a four-hour prayer retreat, and by requiring that participants lead a prayer meeting solo.  The results indicated that participants showed growth toward that end.  The Project Director learned valuable lessons regarding teaching for leadership skills, which is markedly different from teaching for content. To achieve this balance, the project director wrote a twelve-unit course on Christian doctrine that he taught in ten settings. The director used verbatims, tests, and surveys to evaluate the ministry intervention. Research and evaluation was conducted through congregational questionaires and response forms.
