This project used a quantitative and qualitative research method with questionnaires to pastors of twenty-four Korean American churches which have implemented, or are currently implementing, the EE program for spiritual growth of new and existing members. The EE program has two weakneses in Korean American churches. One is a lack of networks of relationship, and the other is a lack of training and application for witnessing as a way of life. This project shows that the EE program is a good model of discipleship for evangelism-orientation, if properly adapted to Korean American churches. EE is not a canned evangelism program, but it provides a good model of relationship evangelism. This project recommends that the Korean American church needs to make EE their own, and adapt it to their own contexts. This project believes that the effectiveness of the EE program depends on developing a network of relationships in Korean American churches."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127978780917760,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:52:30.760Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:13:12Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:41:16Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"81772627-5cd8-4603-9606-c5eafccc591a","accessControl_ssim":["36c27574-91f9-4a33-ae5e-8f3edbee5804"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The missional megachurch: essential elements that make an attractional megachurch missional to its core"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:13:11Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:57:11Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["49536124-12fe-4eb2-b15c-af107dceba21"],"hasLease_ssim":["8efd8361-d5b1-493f-afa6-9790e6da5a57"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Biblical Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John R Franke"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David Angus Bell"],"publisher_tesim":["Biblical Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church--History of doctrines","Mission of the church","Big churches","Evangelistic work","Grace Community Church (Noblesville, Ind)","Christianity","Missions--Theory","Experience (Religion)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Two recent and significant influences within the church in North America collide in this research project: attractional megachurches and the missional church vision. There are, however, others who assert that missional is a way of being the church and thus size is not the determining factor. Instead, they argue that organizational practices in conjunction with Spirit-directed leadership are the key factors that foster a missional culture. This hypothesis has not been verified in large churches. Therefore, the purpose of this project was to research the relevant literature and conduct qualitative research at four large self-described missional churches to determine what cultivates a missional culture in large churches. Cross-case analysis of the research data indicated that alignment of organizational practices with a biblical theology and the work of the Spirit are the key factors. This study provides both a foundation upon which others can build and assistance to large churches that endeavour to become missional."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129831746830336,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:21:57.886Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":17,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Daniel L Gottwerth","hits":1,"label":"Daniel L Gottwerth"},{"value":"David Allen Marks","hits":1,"label":"David Allen Marks"},{"value":"David Angus Bell","hits":1,"label":"David Angus Bell"},{"value":"David W McKinley","hits":1,"label":"David W McKinley"},{"value":"Heather Rice","hits":1,"label":"Heather Rice"},{"value":"Jason Alder Poling","hits":1,"label":"Jason Alder Poling"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Church and community","hits":1,"label":"Church and community"},{"value":"Episcopal Church--Social teachings","hits":1,"label":"Episcopal Church--Social teachings"},{"value":"Evangelistic work","hits":1,"label":"Evangelistic work"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Bible--Study","hits":2,"label":"Bible--Study"},{"value":"Big churches","hits":2,"label":"Big churches"},{"value":"Christian education of adults","hits":2,"label":"Christian education of adults"},{"value":"Church work with people experiencing homelessness","hits":2,"label":"Church work with people experiencing homelessness"},{"value":"Evangelicalism","hits":2,"label":"Evangelicalism"},{"value":"Mission of the church","hits":2,"label":"Mission of the church"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[{"value":"United States","hits":2,"label":"United States"},{"value":"China","hits":1,"label":"China"},{"value":"Colorado","hits":1,"label":"Colorado"},{"value":"Pennsylvania--Philadelphia","hits":1,"label":"Pennsylvania--Philadelphia"}],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":17,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"Biblical Theological Seminary","hits":17,"label":"Biblical Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":17,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"2012","hits":4,"label":"2012"},{"value":"2013","hits":3,"label":"2013"},{"value":"2010","hits":2,"label":"2010"},{"value":"2014","hits":2,"label":"2014"},{"value":"2017","hits":2,"label":"2017"},{"value":"2018","hits":2,"label":"2018"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Miscellaneous","hits":17,"label":"Miscellaneous"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":17,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Biblical Theological Seminary","hits":17,"label":"Biblical Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":17,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":2,"next_page":null,"prev_page":1,"total_pages":2,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":10,"total_count":17,"first_page?":false,"last_page?":true}}}
