Ten such persons participate in the project. Six of them indicate that their critical images influence formation of their images of God, based on the similarity of structural elements in both images. Participants in 12-step programs register a score significantly higher statistically on representations of God as Loving than do those in Rational Recovery. Participants in Rational Recovery and other nonspiritual groups tend to score significantly higher on representations of God as Wrathful.
