The congregation's work suffered due to a few workers being overworked and a majority of members having little or no responsibility. The project also seeks to affirm laity in the process of ministerial formation. Three program goals include: (1) to establish local church lay support committees for students, (2) to hold a three hour conference, involving faculty, students, and laity, on laity's involvement in theological education, and (3) provide supervisory training for laity through on-site visits by faculty.
