It includes narrative accounts of the practice, describes how it works, proposes theories for why it functions as a source of hope, and outlines dimensions of the practice that are more mundane, unpredictable, or unintended. This project proposes a holistic framework that might guide congregations in the work of healing and reconciliation. The report focuses on the relationship of two churches, one Black and one White, and explores the role dialogue plays in the healing journey of reconciliation. This project examines interfaith pilgrimage as such a model of interfaith relationship building. My thesis is that a joint, congregationally-based, educational program is an effective approach for fostering genuine Jewish-Christian dialogue. The research model used is both ethnographic and pro-active from the point of view of a participant/observer.
