This project focuses on a particular congregation's experience caring for a pastor and his family. The project is a phenomenological study, which looks for the essence of a shared experience, then seeks meaning. This project focuses on the challenges of pastoral responsibilities and family life, using the writer's personal experiences, discussions with other pastors and literature review, thus following the descriptive methodology.  The research revealed that because of the need to fulfill what is expected of them, pastors find less time for their family and personal development.  It further found that spouses and children feel neglected and abandoned for church work and therefore, need more of the pastor's presence in the home.
