This training conference causes significant, positive changes in knowledge and attitudes among individual participants, but it does not, within six months after the training, bring about any concrete plans and activities for planting and renewal of churches. Because the project is not able to continue monitoring and encouraging concrete activities of participants, gains made by the conference are not consolidated. The congregation adopts initiatives designed to strengthen worship, prayer, outreach, assimilation, congregational care, fellowship, serving, finance, missions, and clarity of mission and vision. The project demonstrates that a proactive strategy to renew a congregation can affect attitudes and perceptions of members positively, but improved rates of growth and assimilation are more difficult to attain and require great intentionality on the part of everyone involved. Conflict between parents who educate children at home and those who do not often stems from pride and legalism in both parties. Churches that emphasize Christ-centered liberty in education choices and teach covenantal responsibilities of parents toward children experience fewer conflicts. The importance of Ministry Descriptions presupposes the importance of lay ministry. The project designs Ministry Descriptions to enhance participants' perceptions of their ministries in six areas: expectations, lines of authority, evaluations, purposes within the overall ministry of the church, satisfaction with ministry, and satisfaction with Ministry Descriptions.
