Bernice McCarthy's 4MAT learning style instrument, the Learning Type Measure[registered trademark] (LTM) was used to profile 111 students. The results showed two significant differences in style distribution from studies done in the United States. The collaborative learners were represented in 45 percent of the student body (17 points above similar Western surveys). The dynamic learner was drastically underrepresented at JETS with only 7 percent of the student body (as compared to 20-25 points in the West). Statistics were also analyzed by age, gender, culture (country of origin), and college major or program of study in an effort to detect any relevant patterns. All of these factors were found to have an influence on an individual's learning style--some more than others. Eighteen faculty members participated in this study. They were first given the LTM. Later they were given McCarthy's Teaching Style Instrument[registered trademark] (TSI). Results showed that the teaching styles of 60 percent of faculty were congruent with their own learning styles. There was a significant amount of mismatch between faculty teaching and student learning styles, depending on students' age, gender, and choice of study program. Suggestions were given on how to teach through McCarthy's learning cycle so as to address all learning styles present. This way students would become more accustomed to different teaching styles, and teachers to use methods that engage each style of learner."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130685883285504,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:35:32.454Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:08:39Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:37:39Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b22bb6a1-798a-4a56-9de0-1cf5c28697c4","accessControl_ssim":["8ad1fe11-33fa-4d6f-8060-a66e4cc37522"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Lay leadership development in the context of church planting in California Southern Baptist churches"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:08:38Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:16:39Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["61988880-6276-4408-a8c3-0f48beeca5b5"],"hasLease_ssim":["b401b1f3-a166-436b-a4f8-d4f7a3adb0e2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jerry C Wofford","John W Reed"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Darren D Hulbert"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Church development, New"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The CSBC equips church planters to reduce the unbelieving population using Basic Training for Church Planters. The research includes an overview of the church's history, a review of the literature relevant to church evaluation, and an examination of the church's spatial, financial, temporal, and human resources. The aim of the project is to ensure that Memorial aligns its ministries with its core values and mission, and at the same time optimizes the resources so as to best enable growth. This project will demonstrate Dr. Lawson's thesis that when a church examines its stewardship of the resources God has entrusted it, with an eye to optimizing His ministry through them, it can make significant changes that will measurably enhance its overall ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131193357369344,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:43:36.419Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T08:35:46Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:31:04Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"69b68deb-7b9e-41b0-a6e6-b6cda55131f2","accessControl_ssim":["39715f2d-e8a4-43b9-887b-d8cdeb421979"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A case study of the impact of a strategic plan on the participants in the planning process of Grace Bible Church of Stow, Ohio"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T08:35:45Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:13:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["41c4f0fd-488d-47ef-b797-99bcfb11a7b3"],"hasLease_ssim":["9a5ca3b2-ada2-435c-95cf-99d14ea1142b"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Aubrey Malphurs"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["James R Brown"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Grace Bible Church (Stow, Ohio)","Malphurs, Aubrey","Strategic planning","Planning"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The goal of this applied research project is to discover the impact of the strategic planning process on the participants involved in that process at Grace Bible Church of Stow, Ohio. The project used a strategic planning committee consisting of a cross sample of the congregation of Grace Bible Church and the formation of a strategic plan to discover the impact. The strategic plan outlined in Aubrey Malphur's book Advanced strategic planning was the tool used to develop and conduct the strategic plan. A questionnaire was used to evaluate the perception of the participants concerning the impact of the strategic planning process on themselves. The evaluation of the impact was determined by the change in responses on the questionnaire. The project began with a review of the current literature concerned with developing a strategic plan for a church and the impact this plan can have on the participants and the church as a whole. The project continued by conducting a strategic plan for the church and collecting the data using the questionnaire. The project concluded that the strategic planning process had a positive impact on those who participated in the planning. Other factors were also discovered that can affect the impact of the process."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130407972896768,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:31:07.418Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:43:34Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:34:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"982caf5e-bc12-4a6c-8bf4-94d190d2be7d","accessControl_ssim":["0e5c0cea-71e3-47f8-b3af-33a727c2b359"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A family life survey of Word of Life Bible Seminary married students, Atibaia, S√£o Paulo, Brazil"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:43:33Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:34:53Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["5ed23d7f-4900-474c-b9a8-62319463c40d"],"hasLease_ssim":["bdfe97d0-dc72-4ad4-8bbe-11ab262dbcb9"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jerry C Wofford","William D Lawrence"],"year_tesim":["2003"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David J Merkh"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Students","Families--Religious life","Married people","Word of Life Bible Seminary, Atibaia (São Paulo, Brazil)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The ministry to married students in the 'Aquila and Priscilla Project' at Word of Life Bible Seminary, Atibaia, São Paulo, Brazil, was evaluated through a 112-question descritive survey administered to 28 full-time, resident student couples in order to determine the family life needs of those students and their interest in continuing 'minister's family' education.
