It was hypothesized that the incorporation of biblical teaching and cultural aspects of forgiveness would provide a forgiveness paradigm that could increase the motivation to forgive among the target community. However, the increase of scores in the willingness to forgive after the workshop was not statistically significant. The goal of the project was to demonstrate a model of followup which would provide believers with nurture and support.  Two towns were targeted for a structured followup program in which new converts were discipled by a trained worker.  The towns indicated enough potential for improvement to warrant employment of a full-time followup worker. Friendships were pursued first among church members and then among those outside of the church from community and business contacts.  Ten class sessions were conducted which were comprised of lectures, discussions, role-play and outside of class assignments. Two lecturers from the community shared insights on making friends and how to overcome barriers.
