Ten couples participated in a process of conceptual education, practical training, and guided application of biblical concepts targeting enhanced spiritual discipline practices and improved couple understanding skills. Couples listened to five sermons, attended two training workshops, and completed an eight-week home practicum. Participants were to practice two spiritual disciplines twice each week for eight weeks and engage in two communication events (where they pursued understanding their spouse) each week for six weeks. The program has been developed carefully on the basis of strong theological and theoretical rationale.  The method of study combines 13 class teachings and a marriage enrichment retreat followed by a three-month support group.  The program was implemented at the Korean First Baptist Church (SanJose, California).  Results show a significant improvement in the rolemodels, relational behavior, communication, and conflict management.
