The scope is centered on a Lutheran view of confirmation, in which the seventh and eighth graders experience an intensive study in Bible, Martin Luther's Small Catechism, and faith. College students completed a survey instrument that demonstrated many anti-Christian hostilities. As a result of that survey, a curriculum was developed to be used among college-bound mid-adolescents to equip them with the necessary tools to defend and stand firm in their Christian faith. Alongside the curriculum, the survey instrument also indicated the need and value for an active mentoring ministry to be employed amongst the church's mid-adolescents. The thesis begins with an analysis of the need for new missionaries in the C\u0026MA while also showing how the denomination has addressed the issue. The second and third chapters provide a biblical-theological framework of missions and missionary recruitment along with a broad understanding of millennials and their postmodern context. Finally, a strategy for recruiting missionaries from among the millennials in the US Christian \u0026 Missionary Alliance is offered, providing helpful suggestions for local congregations to implement, as well as steps of action for the C\u0026MA to take at the national and district levels. The thesis's goal is that a youth pastor can take a group of leadership teenagers and challenge them to the high calling of preaching.
