While theological belief is relatively high, active participation in churches is relatively low in this city (comparing national studies). The case study research method was utilized in this thesis to analyze the effectiveness of a non-denominational church planting (Christ's Church) in Amarillo, Texas to reach unchurched baby boomers.  It was determined that the church planting reached many in this target group and that it is an effective means of assimilating the unchurched into the Body of Christ. The importance of a strategy for growth and the theological perspectives of church growth are examined.  This small church faced major obstacles to growth but at the end of the seven-year period the average number of participants in the worship service grew to 114. A high correlation was found between personality congruency and ministerial satisfaction.
