Spiritual needs as declared by the very elderly are examined and discussed.  Material is drawn from pastoral involvement with two hundred-fifty parishioners all of whom are in the ninth and tenth decade of their pilgrimages.  The research method was active listening and observing, then recording parishioiners' subjective spiritual concerns.  Data was accumulated over ten years. Such prayer, defined as 'meditative prayer', places an emphasis on waiting for God.  Meditative prayer underlines the need for quiet preparation as part of praying.  A six-week Lenten series of sermons, workshops and model meditative prayers provide a broad approach to an entire congregation.  The project report contains scriptural and theological support. The report covers a period of one year.  Reflections are presented for each monthly session. Approximately twenty persons attended each meeting.  The project reflects theologically and psychologically on the issues of death, mourning, widowhood and God's will in people's lives.  The report examines these topics scripturally and historically.
