The object of worship is not human satisfaction, but God who created, redeemed, and sustains Creation. There are, however, certain 'effects' of worship: communion with God; fellowship with others; transformation of character; and motivation to serve. The author wrote four sermons and planned four worship services based on those sermons. She charted questions on a Likert continuum, adding open-ended and reflection questions on a second page, and solicited volunteers to participate in the research. Seven worshipers volunteered, and attended four consecutive Sunday services, reflecting, answering questions on the form, and being interviewed.
